Our medical review process in Los Angeles, in plain terms

Menopause guidance has changed substantially in the last five years. A page written to older advice is not merely dated, it can be actively wrong, so we set out here what gets checked and how often. Serving women across Los Angeles and nearby.

  • Reviewed at least annually

Why it matters here

A field where old advice does harm

Menopause advice carries a problem most health topics do not, since guidance issued confidently across Los Angeles in the early 2000s now reads very differently. Between 2002 and roughly 2017, a great deal of published menopause advice was shaped by an interpretation of the WHI trial that later analysis substantially revised. Women were told to stop treatment, or never to start it, on the strength of that interpretation.

Content written in that period still circulates and still ranks. Some of it advises a blanket five-year limit that no current guideline supports, and some of it treats all hormone therapy as carrying the risk profile of one oral formulation studied in women over 60.

That is why the review date on a menopause page matters more than on most health topics, and why ours are dated and revisited rather than written once and left. The detail sits in hormone testing, menopause reading and hormone replacement therapy go further into it. Check the review date on any Los Angeles menopause page you read, including this one, and treat an undated page as older than it looks.

The process

How your Los Angeles assessment works

  1. Drafted against source guidance

Clinical claims are written from professional body positions and published research, not from other websites covering the same topic.

  2. Reviewed by a clinician

A licensed clinician checks the claims, the framing and anything that could be read as advice to start or stop a medicine.

  3. Uncertainty stated, not smoothed

Where the evidence is genuinely mixed, the page says so. Writing around a disagreement to sound more confident is how bad advice spreads.

  4. Dated and revisited

Reviewed at least annually and sooner when guidance changes, with the review date shown rather than buried.

Common questions

Los Angeles menopause care questions, answered

Answered the way a clinician would answer them, not the way a brochure would.

Clinical pages are checked against the current position statements of The Menopause Society and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists before publication. Where those bodies disagree with each other, or the evidence is genuinely unsettled, we say so on the page rather than picking whichever version reads better.
Clinical pages are reviewed at least annually, and sooner when a major position statement or regulatory decision changes. Menopause guidance has moved substantially in the last five years, and pages written to 2015 guidance are actively wrong now.
Where a page makes a specific claim about risk, effectiveness or cost, it should be traceable to a professional body, a regulator or published research. If you find a number on this site you cannot trace, tell us and we will either source it or remove it.
No. No manufacturer pays for placement, mention or preference here, and we do not take commission on any product named on this site. Where we recommend a generic over a brand, that is a clinical and financial judgement rather than a commercial one.
No, and it is not meant to. Everything here is general information. Hormone therapy is a prescription medicine with real contraindications, and whether it suits you depends on your own history in ways a web page cannot assess.

Patient reviews

Los Angeles patients on their hormone therapy

★★★★★

I had been waking three or four times a night for two years and had been told it was just stress. The consultation actually went through my cycle history. Six weeks on a patch and I am sleeping through.

★★★★★

What I wanted was someone who would talk about the risks honestly rather than sell me something. They walked through the clot data and why a patch suited me better than tablets.

Marguerite O.
Beverly Hills
★★★★★

The brain fog was the part nobody warned me about. Having a clinician tell me it was a recognized symptom and not early dementia was worth the appointment on its own.

Denise W.
Pasadena
★★★★

It took two dose changes before things settled, which they had told me upfront might happen. The three-month review was booked before I left the first appointment.
